Meet the Judges in Germany

Meet the 2019 Dopper Changemaker Challenge jury of the German semi-finals and finals! From CSR consultants to entrepreneurial activists and environmental policy experts, these five judges are gearing up to shortlist 20 ideas, which include the future winners of research grants of up to € 5,000!

 

Alexander Nolte – Langbrett

Entrepreneur and co-founder of Langbrett, Alexander Nolte is a surf enthusiast and activist for a clean environment. After developing products for corporate clients with his own innovation consultancy, amongst them the largest in Germany, Alexander founded Langbrett with his partner Oliver Spies. He is also one of the initiators of the Stop! Micro Waste project, lobbying for clean oceans and a plastic free planet.

 

Ulrich Petschow – Institute for Ecological Economy Research

As a Senior Researcher at IÖW (Institut für ökologische Wirtschaftsforschung), Ulrich Petschow brings his academic perspective to the table to shape a more sustainable future. His passionate collective mindset is visible throughout all of his work, in which he has a special interest for environmental policy, innovation and water management. One of his latest research projects is the “New Alliances for Sustainability Policy” where he seeks for cooperative strategies between environmental policy actors, trade unions, welfare- and social associations.

 

Harriet von Froreich – CRCLR Hub for Circular Economy

Harriet likes to think of herself as a transformer: From arts to new economics, from utopian concepts to practice, from ideas to messages. With a background in visual art, philosophy and dramaturgy, as well as diverse experience in narrative work, strategy and PR, Harriet takes care of all things concept and communications at CRCLR.

 

Julia Propp – Phineo AG

Julia brings in her strategic philanthropic skills and design thinking mindset to change the world. She is currently working as senior consultant at Phineo AG, where her focus lies on the areas of Corporate Social Responsibility and Social Impact Analysis. Julia is a real allrounder, as she has an academical background with her experiences as course instructor at Humboldt University and working for the Institute of Sustainable Consumption at TU Berlin. Apart from her academic work, Julia is also one of the initiators of the Panther Ray raft, steadily tidying Berlin’s channels and rivers.

 

Niels Heijman – Dopper

Niels Heijman works for Dopper’s R&D department and has a special background in Industrial Design. This mastermind aims to bring the best products and finest collections to the global market and as a real enthusiast, he won’t stop until he creates the perfect “wow” reaction on your face when seeing or using a Dopper product.
